I'm selling some of my collection to fund some other hobbies and have this mid-70s psychadelic gem of a bass. The checking and wear looks awesome. It has new vintage styled pots and pickups (Dimarzio Ultra Jazz), but I'll include the original non-working pickups. Great weight, great tone, some fret wear on the first few frets but still perfectly playable, and probably one of the cooler looking jazz basses I've seen. It also has the much favored 4-bolt neck, so it's right before that transition. As-is, but plays great and it should make you happy. $1950 shipped w/ this more modern tweed case.

It really is. The original grey bottom pickups date to 1974, but the neck plate is early 1975. I'm guessing it was right before the 3-bolt necks started. You won't find a cooler vintage paint job from the 70's I don't think ;)

I'm not selling it w/ the provenance, but the shop I got this from said they were told this was one of Wilson Pickett's touring basses in the 70's. Haven't been able to find any supporting photos though.
