1974 Fender Jazz Bass custom color

    i spotted just such a thing on eBay, selling in my area, actually, and i was wondering how rare are custom color basses? this one is a all original 1974 in Lake Placid Blue Metallic, which i've seen in person and looks wonderful, i just wonder how rare it is and how that should impact the sale price... any knowledge out there? the bass is still on eBay now...

    Is the term "Refin" in the description anywhere?... Im not sure if these were made or not in 1974 but it might have been refinished in that color at a later date.
    you should definitely confirm that before buying...

    my understanding is that it is an original finish, a custom color offered then, i don't know the Fender history, though...
