1975 Guild JSII – Rare Acorn/Oak carving – Dark Star pickups!!
$1350 OBO shipped to CONUS. (Price corrected to match posting header)

All original, minus the Dark Stars of course. This JSII is one of the less common acorn/leaf carved models that I believe we're only made from '73-'75. Super fast neck (1 1/2) with no breaks or repairs, frets are in great shape, super low action. The neck is straight and trussrod adjusts fine. It’s a set neck and the neck joint is fine - no resets or problems. It currently has brass bridge saddles but a set of the original rosewood bridge saddles are also included (very simple saddle swap in and out).

The finish shows play wear you’d expect from a classic player (dings around edges, etc). I’ve tried to photograph what I could. The bass does not look beat up and apart from the wear, it shines up very well. A couple of the dings look as if they’ve been drop filled properly with nitro, so somebody cared for this bass. The hardware is in nice shape (if it looks cloudy in the pics, it's because I took the bass outside from the air conditioning). I’ve gotten lots of compliments for its appearance and sound. It’s a ton of fun to play, fairly light (definitely under 9lb) and lots of mojo.

The pickups are Dark Stars – remakes of the original Guild single coil Bisonic pickups found on the 60s Guilds. The sound is great – very responsive with broad frequency response. All the controls work as they should. I’d keep this bass, but I have to radically thin the herd (COVID economy) and I have a Guild Starfire reissue with the same pickups that is my go to bass. PM me with questions. Original case is structurally fine but worn - all latches function properly and the velvet interior is in great shape.
