    Hello !

I found a NOS pair of 70's Schaller 10 / 104 PUs. This way I could replace the non original PUs for these new ones. The old original ones were dead and too damaged, a lot of rust on the poles aslo. It was very hard to find this NOS Schaller pair, over an year and a half I was trying to find some. Now, besides the Pope Pre amp my 77 Is now Original !

    Cheers

That is one sweet looking bass. Carl Thompson is on of the few mutated, strange body types that actually looks good to me.

I have a set of those pickups in my LP and I find they're a bit fussy about having the strings right over the poles.

How's the E & G output on the bridge pickup vs the neck?

    Beautiful bass BTW.

    Hello,

I know that these old Schaller PUs are very primitive, but for some reason they are working great with the Mike Pope on board circuit. All strings outputs have almost the same level.

that's a pretty killer CT bass. lots of controls there. i'm guessing stacked vol/passive tone, blend, stacked low/low mid, stacked high/high mid, active passive switch and coil-splitters for each pickup.

    Nice

  14. Any pics of the neck joint? I'm always interested to see the neck joints of old CT basses which show a progression of the way Carl and his crew approached building.

Glad you found some old school pickups for this bass.

Very nice neck joint . If you put in your mind that it was in 1977, and at this time even to find a Bass pickup for sale was almost impossible, it is really a revolutionary craftsman thing !
