Fantastic P bass with plenty of thump. Just the right amount of age-appropriate mojo. Neck plays and feels great. Will ship well-packed in gig bag. No trades; I really just need to save cash to take my wife on a trip away from all these crazy kids. Price lowered from $550 to $450 shipped obo.
Hi! What is the neck width at the nut? Does everything (including truss rod) work as it should? Are the pickups and pots, etc., original? If so, are they scratchy? Thanks!
I will have to get you some more precise measurements (I am not with the bass right now) but the neck seems to be your standard P bass width of 1 3/4". The neck is straight, comfy, and I have never needed to adjust the truss rod. Everything is original to the best of my knowledge. I don't remember the pots being scratchy last time I played it (I gigged with it about 6 months ago and haven't touched it much since then) but I will plug it in tomorrow and check it out. The bass feels and plays fantastically, and compares very favorably with my pre-CBS p bass. I'll give you some better answers tomorrow. Cheers, Adam
Thanks. I would like to know width at nut. Also, I'm pretty sure the knobs are not original, not that that matters terribly to me. How it plays and sounds is much more important. I have a 1977 Silver Series Jazz bass - my first real bass - and have wanted a Silver Series P bass just because I'm obsessive. cheers!
Just played it. The pots are not scratchy at all. The neck at the nut is right at 1 9/16" (using a tape measure and my eyes). I think you are right about the knobs, but some repro Fender ones should look quite nice on there. It is really a great bass.
Hey! Just wanted to say GLWTS! Being poor and laid off, and with the Christmas bills to pay, I can't do this. I love my 1977 Silver Series jazz bass, and if this plays anything like it, it is a sweet bass!
I'am looking for one I really going to think about this I wanted the one with the P/J and maple fretboard with the block inlays. This is a nice price I let you know within a day or so
Ouch, these are great basses and I would love to have it, but sunburst gives me the hee bee gee bees. GLWTS!
My Silver Series jazz is natural and is gorgeous! I like the burst too though. Great sounding and playing basses, IMO.
Ya, I don't need ideas like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really love the late 70's and early 80's Ibanez stuff, you just can't beat the value!
"Almost forgot I had this for sale" bump. Someone make me an offer and get this out of the closet. Vibe, playability, and solid construction are up there with my 60's Fender.
I love these basses I have something that i put up for sale which i expect to sell quickly and if it does I ill buy this from you unless you happen to sell it first
