    For sale is a 1978 Fender Precision
    I just got this maybe a month or so ago, and just don’t really need it. I picked it up local from another TB’r because it sounded and played so well, but its time to pass it on.
    The bass is mostly original, the pick guard and knobs were changed out, but the originals are included with the bass. The pick guard broke near the jack (common problems for old p-basses)

    It has wear. A worn spot on the back, a worn spot where you arm rests and nicks here and there. It has nicks on the back of the neck from what looks like some dude wearing rings.
    It weighs around 10.5 lbs.
    No dead spots
    Low action
    Great tone
    Straight neck
    I did not get a case with this bass. I have a thin fender gig bag that I will ship it in. I will pack it very well.

    Wow that neck has fantastic birdseye to it!

    If the new owner wants a period correct case I have one at a reasonable price

    That's some yummy mocha goodness right there.

    Funny how those wear patterns match my own 78 P almost exactly. And yes, unusually exotic neck figuring for a Fender of that vintage.

    Do you have the bling (pickup and bridge covers)?

    Thanks. It does have a nice birds eye maple neck on it. No covers.

    Kinda looks like a Root Beer sorta brown. Great looking bass, absolutely love that legit road wear.

    Beautiful bass, I also have a '78 Precision and it is by far the best sounding bass for recording purposes that I ever used in the studio,, pure articulated bottom and great sustain.
    Good Luck with the sale, price is fair.
