This came off of a 1981 Fender Precision Special Bass. Except for the extra routing to accomodate the active electronics and battery, this is pretty much the same as a late 70's/early 80's Precision Bass body. This sale is for the Naked Body only. As you can see there is lots of wear, nicks, dings, scratches. There are several places where the finish has worn down through the gold primer and into the Fullerplast and the wood. There is some graininess in the finish which is common to the CAR metallic. It weighs 6 lb 7 oz with the non-original strap buttons. Lots of paint chips around the edges. And some parts where the red is darker. Again, that's normal for this finish in this era. A cool body for your project. I have this bass set up with gold guard and an allparts neck because I been playing it and has some really nice tone. It is a heavier body than average...reminds me of the mid-late '70s P bass bodies. The weight don't bother me at all...thats never really been a factor for me either way but I do know that for a lot of people it is so thats why Im mentioning it. I'm on the fence about selling it...its not a must sell item and I think its a really cool looking body with a nice Fender color so If I sell some other gear first I may end up keeping this baby. In the meantime, I have it set up and will be enjoying it. $475 shipped CONUS. Not looking for trades at this time.
