    SOLD, SOLD, SOLD.

For my TB/ BABP/ BbL buds, yes, this is Missy. Swore, SWORE I was getting buried with her. Ah, fate....:help: I purchased this from a working bassist in Mississippi who played all over the southeast for 27 years. He took good care of her, but she's got the mojo that 6 nights a week will add, playing in clubs in Memphis, Jackson, Birmingham, Mobile, etc. NOT a showcase queen.

1981 G&L L2000 Series E, absolutely 100 percent original right down to the strap buttons, nothing touched under the hood, last guy to look under there was George Fullerton. First generation preamp, slot poles, chrome plates and hardware, neck dates to June 1981, body Sept. 1981.

Neck is issue free- NO ski-jump or humps, frets have about another ten years on them but are low- if you play on flats, this will outlast you. If you go looking, you might find a few doinks in the neck, but it is smooth, flat around the back, and just under 1-11/16 at the nut. Action is LOW. Numerous doinks on the headstock edges. Ash body, again, lots of mojo- check out the thumb wear- THAT doesn't come from a factory in Ensenada..- weighs in at ten pounds on the trusty, oh-so-accurate bathroom scale.

Slot pole pickups flat out roar. If you crave big, BIG bottom end, and want to rumble ballsacks six blocks away/ demolish small buildings....here's your bass. This is THE definitive early G&L tone- big, bold, and bludgeoning...nothing will support a band or fill space on a track better. First-gen preamp / wiring means that the bridge pickup is unaffected by the treble control when solo'ed. The bridge pickup soloed in series/ active will out-muscle any Jazz or 'Ray. Series/ parallel/ active/ passive, it all sounds huge. And yes, she can drop some seriously stanky funk...

OHSC included, pretty beat on the outside, but all there, and does what it is meant to do.

This mean-ass maven of monster tone is yours for $1000 shipped. Ships from Vancouver, B.C. I can do a bit better for Canadian buyers on the shipping, and as always, youse local kats might get a better taste. Paypal is how we roll.

The inevitable trade thing...I will consider cross-border trades- they tricky on my end- no 5'ers unless we're talking Roscoe SKB's or Zon 519, maybe a G&L L-2500. Wish list includes StingRays, especially 91-94 2-band, G&L US M2000 with the #12 neck, if its got a 1-5/8 neck, try me. Will also consider two-fer deals with the SB-2000. pm me on that.

These early L2000s are so badass. Is that an ebony board? or rosewood?

Board looks and sounds like ebony- warm, crisp and slightly compressed, very even. The grain is more open than some ebony I've seen, so my conclusion would be Madagascar rosewood. Very dark and rich with all the sonic benefits of ebony.

Did I mention the lack of dead spots on the neck? :ninja:

I'm the original owner of the identical bass, except for a black coated bridge on mine, so an early '82. The chrome bridge is cooler for sure. One of my favorite things about this bass is the wide, but low profile frets - they feel just perfect to me. GLWTS.

    I'll get a shot...Schaller branded tuners, old-style ferrules...no extra holes, either.
