I'm interested in possibly buying a 1982 BC Rich Mockingbird as I've wanted one of these for so long now and I would prefer one of the 80s US ones with the R on the headstock like this one is. It's selling for $3,950USD, but I live in Australia so that makes it $5,642 AUD at the moment. Ain't exactly cheap. Do you guys think it's worth that kind of money?

    Far too much.
    Cool bass though.

It makes sense if there is something special about it. If it is a short horn or has some unique characteristic, but otherwise that is pretty high.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
I'll hold off. The thing is, these things always seem to be for sale in this price range.

  8. Asking price and what they actually sell for are most likely two entirely different things. I have enough basses, but I want one too and if I can ever find one at a fair price I'd be sorely tempted. IMO that's not an even remotely fair price, no matter how perfect it might be.

There's a nicer looking mid 80s one than the GRW one for sale now. It's a supreme as well. The GRW one doesn't appear to be a supreme.

I like my NJ mockingbird even with the neck dive. The double p dimarziis make it a thunderchicken. But there’s no way I’d pay that much for a USA model new. If a person just has to spend that kind of money, look for an Alembic or a Zon etc.

I see the one you're talking about. Still quite expensive!

  12. It's not worth it to me.

There aren't a lot of them to chose from,
so you have to ask your self just exactly how bad do you want it.
