This bass has not seen many gigs. Sen ash body (which I seem to remember is actually alder) Serial SQ 315XX...very small indent on upper lower bout....slight scratches on back in one small area....a few marks on lower bout bottom.....a few tiny marks on top of headstock.... swirls here and there from the usual rubbing. Difficult to get pictures to show. All n' all, a really clean bass for being 31 years and counting. No fading in color. There would be more whacks on it from a couple busy weekends at Guitar Center. No one had ever been inside the guts....truss rod turns easily (never been adjusted till now)....sets up easy....pick/ups adjusted properly. I like medium low....it'll go lower easily. Frets very clean. Nice thick chunk of rosewood board. To me, sounds like a warm, bass blooming 70's P with a delicious growl. 3 ply pickguard....w/b/w. Tight neck pocket. In construction and sound, the lads of the rising sun, nailed these suckers. Comes with original case. Now $600....shipping included.
That's a twin of my very first bass! That bass' serial number was SQ43### As my first bass, I didn't realize what a GREAT bass it was and I traded it away on my 17th birthday. I found a slightly older Japanese Squier Precision about 8 years ago and have been holding on tightly (despite several friends offering to buy it) ever since. GREAT basses!
I can't believe this isn't gone bump.....very clean, great sounding, light weight, dare I say it, 'vintage' bass, w/ original case.....
I dropped the bass to $575 shipped....this will be east of the Mississippi....I just shipped a guitar to Cali and got whacked on shipping. Canada....maybe all the way to B.C. depending on courier. Thanks.....
