1986 BC Rich Mockingbird - Rare Maple Fretboard - Made in USA One of the last basses made by the original BC Rich company in Los Angeles California. It has a rare maple fretboard. I think I've seen maybe one other original BC Rich with a maple board. Based on the maple board and the switch configuration, I'm guessing this bass was a custom order. The pickups are EMG's. It's a safe bet to say that these pickups aren't original to the bass. The chrome mini toggle switch is no longer hooked up. The bass is in good condition. It shows some playing wear, but there is no damage nor repairs. It sounds and plays great. Action is low. Comes with the Coffin Case shown. Not really a Coffin Case guy myself, but it's very hard to find a case that fits this bass, and that Coffin Case works perfectly. Almost as if it was made to fit that specific bass. $1,200 plus actual shipping.
OMG i think this may be my long lost Mockingbird.. Do you still have this or know where it went?? Let me know if you would be so kind. I told myself if i ever found it id get it back. Great memories with that unit.
LOL.. I was too young to know! I was in a metal band named MONOLITH in NY and this was my main for several years. Loved it. Punchy and mean. It was a bit heavy and had some neck dive. I used a fat strap to compensate. After metal phased out i was in a cover band and it didnt fit stylewise. Couldnt afford to have multiples. Ive been looking for it for several years now and regularly check on here. 1st time seeing it again and the guy is a ghost! Ive never seen another maple board on one since. Ive got a buch of pics feom back in the day. Ill have tp post!
