For sale is my 1986 Music Man Stringray Bass. I no longer play bass so I am selling off this amazing instrument.

The bass is in good condition. It shows signs of wear on the body. The paint appears striped when viewed up close. The neck shows only slight wear with no warping. There are a few light clips on the headstock. Considering its age, it is in very good condition.

It features active electronics with 2 band EQ, bridge mutes and polished neck. Included is the original case.

Please ask if you have any questions.

Bump. This bass is light by the way, ~7lbs.

Oh man, I wish I had some extra cash. One of my favorite basses in my favorite color combination.

Sorry to dispute the 7lb claim, but I've NEVER in all my 50 years ever seen an SR4 under 8 pounds. I would re-weigh it just to make sure.
If I am wrong I do apologize.

I don't have a scale that will register below 10lbs, so that is an estimate. I'd say it's between 7.8-8.4lbs. My last SR4 was just above 10lbs and this feels much lighter.

Yeah. I agree. I am very interested in this bass, but would be much more than than unhappy if I purchased it and, when it arrived, found out it was closer to 9 lbs. Is there anyway you can get an exact weight on it? Does a friend or the local FedEx office have a scale you can put it on?

You guys are right, it's 9.2lbs. Sorry for the misinformation. It's always felt very light for a 'Ray to me.

+1, it's rare to find them under 9.5.

The fingerboard is in great shape. No pen marks that I've found. The dots are worn and some are half filled like you can see in the picture above. Here's a few pictures of the neck. http://imgur.com/a/ktSX5
