    1987 Ken Smith BT4 G

    Flamed African Walnut top
    Mahogany core
    Ebony board
    5 piece neck and body
    3 knob bass& treb preamp
    Original Ken Smith teardrop case

I believe this bass has a graphite reinforced neck. What tells me this is the extra dot at the 24th fret. Only a select number of Ken Smith basses had this option.

Overall condition is good. Structurally the bass is excellent. The bass plays and sounds superb. There is a great deal of finish checking. There is a wear spot in the finish above the neck pickup where a previous owner rested their thumb.
The only issue, if you want to call it that, is that one of the truss rod cover screws is missing.

    Price is $2,650 plus actual shipping. IMG_4920.JPG IMG_4928.JPG IMG_4930.JPG IMG_E4926.JPG IMG_4924.JPG IMG_E4922.JPG IMG_4931.JPG IMG_E4923.JPG IMG_4933.JPG IMG_E4935.JPG IMG_4936.JPG

  2. Could you describe the function of each of three control knobs?

Actually, now that I look at your bass,
THIS is the first model that I have seen in a Flamed WALNUT from the 90's something very. ..very RARE TO FIND....
Most of the times he used Flamed KOA with Mahogany body core.......in those years. ....
It's definitely a Vintage piece of Instrument!!
