My husband owns a 1987 Pedulla fretless electric bass and he wants to buy some strings for it. He has not played in 13 years and would like to know what the best type if strings to use that will not scratch the finish on the bass.

  2. is it a buzz bass? i am guessing so.
i have a pedulla fretless and i just put a new set of Ken Smith Compressors on it, and i love them. they have a real smooth feel to them and are a nickel string. these should be pretty close to a string that shouldn't beat on the neck or his fingers.

  3. I like Rotosound Jazz Bass flatwounds #77s. They'll
give a sound close to that of an upright bass. They're not that expensive either. At another thread, someone asked how good Pyramid strings are(they're supposed to be excellent) and someone
replied that they were a lot like Rotosound 77s, but, are about twice the price. I've never tried them.
