1987 Spector NS-2A 4-string bass in Good condition 3-piece maple neck, neck-through construction Body wings also appear to be maple (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) Rosewood fingerboard Very pretty, dark translucent blue finish, head to toe Spector branded EMG P/J pickups 2-band K-HAZ preamp (Korean copy of USA HAZ preamp) Controls: V/V/B/T Truss rod works perfectly Black hardware and black Schaller straplock strap buttons Freshly strung this week with Ernie Ball Cobalt strings - sounds really, really REALLY good. (New strings not pictured.) Action set up quite low (about .005" relief), no buzzing anywhere except a very slight buzz when fretting the 5th fret on the D string, due to that fret being slightly worn in that one spot. You can choose to either increase the relief very slightly by loosening the truss rod 1/10 turn to remove the buzz, or else live with it, because it's not too bad. (I'll set it whichever way you prefer. I'm personally happy with it where it is.) The neck feel is really nice. A rounded C shape, not super thin, but not a baseball bat either. Overall, this is a pro-grade instrument at a budget price. SUPER comfy for gigging due to the light weight, excellent ergonomics, and great tone. Ships in a gig bag in fine condition. Shows evidence of being handled and played, including minor swirl marks and a couple very light scratches here and there, nothing really visible from more than 2 or 3 feet away, except one small (1/4") paint chip on the underside of the neck between frets 1 and 2, and the logos on the pickups are partially worn away. I am assuming the knobs may not be all original, since they don't all match. The volume knobs are smaller, and the tone knobs are bigger. Nut width: 1 5/8" Weight: A delightful 8 lbs. 6 oz., perfectly balanced I will take additional photos later in the week. Wanted to get it listed now since there have been some inquiries about it. $650 plus ACTUAL shipping to ConUS via the carrier of your choice (FedEx or UPS) Sorry, no trades.
Yeah, I wondered if maybe it was too low! What's a fair price? I paid $750 for it 20 years ago, and haven't really kept up on what they are worth these days.
I have a possible local buyer coming to see it and a few others this Friday. Definitely prefer not having to deal with shipping if possible. I am totally exhausted after shipping 37 so far over the last few weeks. It completely prevented me from spending any time with my family all summer, which is exactly what I was hoping to avoid by selling them in bulk. It is like a marathon, it's going to be a real slog to the finish line. 25 to go...
