For sale is a gorgeous vintage 1988 Warwick Streamer Stage 1. This bass is in very good condition considering it's age. There is some oxidation/tarnishing on the hardware and some very minor dings, but overall, the condition is great considering it's 31 years old! This bass features what I believe to be a cherry body and a full wenge neck through with cherry stringers. It has that vintage Warwick mojo and plays very well. Price is $1950 and includes shipping within the 48.
I have its twin and I can say, without a doubt, one of my all time favorite basses to play. Grab this piece of Golden Era Warwick goodness while you can!
Body wood is called in German language Aningre (or Anigre). Sorry to say but its not a cherry body. I have got just the same bass guitar (same production year '88) and actually long time ago one of the Warwick feellows told me the body wood of the 88's basses was made of Aningre. edit, they switched to maple body wings in 1989. I have got also two of them made in '89
@TALL&STOUT @FlyingV73 if you are talking about the (transient) model with Aningre body wings just the same the OP here offers, yeah absolutely its a really winner. Quite hard (if ever possible) to beat this sound.
"I have its twin and I can say, without a doubt, one of my all time favorite basses to play. Grab this piece of Golden Era Warwick goodness while you can!" Same here. I have the exact bass. The best player I have. They were advertised as having cherry bodies at the time when I bought mine new which may not have been true per the Aningre comments by Warwick. GLWTS I can never see selling mine.
I have an '87 and absolutely love it! Mine is cherry & wenge. Gorgeous German crafted goodness! Try her with chrome flats, mmmm! GLWTS Cheers!
