For sale is a red 1992 American Fender Jazz Bass with active electronics. I am asking $600 SHIPPED. Serial # N2006819. This is a pre-owned bass in GOOD CONDITION. This bass is a real beauty with a gorgeous deep red finish and maple neck and fretboard. I have played many basses with rosewood fretboards and I honestly believe maple sounds better. I am not the original owner of this instrument, but I believe it is a Fender Jazz Bass Plus... if you read the Harmony-Central and BGRA.net reviews, they seem to describe this bass: http://www.harmony-central.com/Bass/Data4/Fender/Jazz-Bass-Plus-01.html http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=1756&type=bass http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=163&type=bass http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=209&type=bass This bass has some wear on the lower frets and a couple of dings on the body. The largest body ding (barely the size of a pencil's eraser) is by the front pickup. I colored over it with red permanent marker which makes it considerably less noticeable. There is another ding on the top horn and a few other barely noticeable scratches and tiny marks here and there on the body. There is a little wear on the pickups and the bridge could stand to be cleaned. A little wear on the sides of the fretboard but otherwise the neck/fretboard are in great shape. Overall, the bass is very clean. These few flaws are cosmetic only, and I would say this thing is in great shape for being 13 years old. This bass SOUNDS AMAZING. Killer low end, smooth mids and highs. This bass was JUST PROFESSIONALLY SET UP last week and strung with BRAND NEW Ernie Ball flatwound STRINGS, which give it a great, unique tone. The bass has active electronics with Fender Lace-Sensor pickups--which sound awesome. This jazz bass is EASY TO PLAY with a very FAST NECK. It has a 22-fret neck but seems smaller than the basses I am used to. This is a good thing, and I rate this bass's playability very highly, as do the reviews linked above. The bass comes in a rectangular Peavey hardcase. The case is in very good condition, and though it is a Peavey, fits this Fender Jazz just fine. Shipping is a flat $45.00 (U.S. and Canada only) and includes insurance.
