I just have too many basses, and just acquired a few more instruments. So before I get too attached to this one (because it is a very nice bass) I am offering a Ken Smith BSR M4 bass for $2200 $1900 US. The bass is active, with KS pickups and electronics. Natural swamp ash. Comes with a KS hard case and strap. Has Thomasticks flat wounds on it. Will include shipping to the US or Canada. The bass weighs 7 lbs 14 oz Serial number is 4M93297A which I believe makes it built in 1997 I may entertain trades, but would probably prefer a straight sale. Higher end column line array PA system is on my wish list. This bass is in very good condition, but there are some fingernail marks on the top - see the last photo. I would rate this as am 8 - 8.5. Neck is awesome and electronics work just fine,
Thank you for your interest. But it is definitely a three piece neck. The Ken Smith site is not very clear, but I believe this is definitely not an M series.
It is. It used to be standard on M models. MW has laminated body standard. This is definetely M series (one piece body wings). MW has sandwiched 3 laminates of maple/walnut. Hence the "MW"
The reason I have this bass listed, is that I have too many basses and most don't get any love. I just love the hunt - and it is cheaper than chasing ladies and going through another divorce. I have been playing this bass a lot lately, and am become attached to it. It currently has Thomastick flats on it and it is giving me a great old school sound/feel. I will keep it listed for another week or so.... so if anyone has any interest in it, maybe contact me before it becomes a permanent member of my collection.
