This one is kind of special to me. I bought it new, its the first American made bass I ever bought...my first "real" bass. It served me well for years, but I'm trying to clear out the stable, so it must go. These older Sterlings are really nice basses, the neck is very much like an early 60's jazz. Its been well cared for, mostly honest playing wear and a few dings, but nothing major. I had it professionally converted to fretless a few years back, it sounds really nice, plenty of mwah. The frets came out really nicely, I'm sure it could be re fretted easily enough. I had rounds on it for one gig, but switched to flats as soon as I noticed some minor wear on the fretboard. There isn't any string grooves, only light marks from the one gig I did with the round wounds. I can't really measure the depth, you can barely feel them with your fingernail. A quick fb level would take care of them in no time. I've got a bunch of detailed pics here: http://s204.photobucket.com/user/jerwit1980/library/1998 Sterling?sort=3&page=1 I'm asking $800 shipped CONUS. Paypal is preferred, but a money order or certified check is cool too, message me and we'll work it out.
TTT. I've been getting a few questions about the extent of fb marks. I'll add it to the op as well, but there aren't any grooves in the fb, on light marks from the one gig I did with the round wounds. I can't really measure the depth, you can barely feel them with your fingernail. A quick fb level would take care of them in no time.
