It happens to me EVERY time. I always ask myself, "Maybe my tastes in Bartolini pickups and preamps have changed?" The answer, every time, is "Nope, still not my thing. Damn!" And that's even when they're in this damn near perfect bass. This beauty checks ALL the boxes. USA Lakland? Yessir. Super comfy broken-in neck with great action? Got it. Killer Birdseye board. Yup. How about a "not-your-everyday" paint job? Of course. Custom carbon-fiber paint that looks like the real thing. The ONLY thing keeping her from being perfect is a tiny scratch near the volume knob (pictured). I tortured myself into almost pulling EVERYTHING and going with different guts but she's been complete for over 20 years, let someone that likes the Bart-tone enjoy her. I've got a Lull PJ5 with Nordys that already checks all my boxes. It's time for this girl to get some REAL love. As for trades, I may be interested in another Lull...P5, PJ5, T5 or JT5 or a high-end 5-string fretless. 35" necks are a MUST.
