1st Post and my 1st Bass

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by James Hill, Jan 25, 2006.

  1. I've been lurking on the forum for quite a while and I finally purchased my first bass and thought I would post. It got here today, 2005 EBMM Limited Edition Stingray. I've been playing a friends cheap Rogue for about a year now and decided to take the plunge for one of my own. The Stingray basses seem to have a good reputation so hopefully I've gotten a quality bass. Now I have to decide on an amp instead of playing through my Carvin PA. Anyway, it's good to be a member of the forum and I look forward to hopefully making a contribution. I'm going to try to post pics below so everyone can see it. After the first day with it I have to say I'm very pleased.

    Very nice!!!!

Having a great first bass improves the odds that you'll stick with it.

Basses are sujective, but IMO you got a good one! Congrats and welcome.
Go ahead and dive right in, lack of knowlage never stopped any of the rest of us.:D
Be warned, go out and play some amps and pick what you like, You ask us and we'll tell you what we like. Unless you are worried about quality issues but from your choice in Bass, I'd say your on the right track.
  12. very nice bass!! (thank you, Leo)
it's almost as nice as the Peavey T-40, i started with (1979).
    welcome home.
  13. Thats a big step up, and you've made the right step ;)

Thats a seriously killer bass right there.

  14. Very nice. I love the colour.

Tastes in basses vary and that is a good thing. But a good instrument is a good instrument. And that my friend is a good instrument. That is far better than my first bass.

Someone already said it, but I will say it again..............

Great color on that bass, very classy and classic with the tort guard. I pick the MM's up once in a while when I hit G.C. they usually play well right off the wall and have a nice punchy tone.

    Great choice............
