Straight up, I'm lazy, and every once in a while I need to play a duo (with acoustic guitar)and I don't wanna haul my medium-size gig rig. I just picked up an MB112 combo, but I'm not sold on the lack of tone shaping and clarity and will probably be sending it back. I'm looking for a lightweight 110 cab to go with an MB200 for these little gigs and I've narrowed it down to these two: Epifany UL20110 or GB STL-10T. Any thoughts, opinions or input is greatly appreciated!
The UL-110 is my favorite Epi cab (and I owned several). If you like the Epi tone it can't be beat, IMHO. I also own a Crazy8. Clear, unadulterated tone from a ridiculously small cab that puts out an amazing amount of volume for its size. It's not a fEarful, it's one of Greenboy's new designs. So it boils down to tone goals, the scooped Epi tone versus a flat tone pallet that puts out the tone you put into it.
The Crazy8 is not a fEARful, but it is a Greenboy design offered through one of the authorized fEARful builders.
I just got an Epi ul2-410 two weeks ago, but have yet to gig with it but it sounded great to my ears. My only issue with the Epi 110 is that it doesn't come in a 4 ohm option. But if it'll pump out enough with an MB200 to drive a duo then I will be happy (also, the Epi scoop will actually work for me.)
Yes, I too like the Epi tone. I've paired two UL-110s and also owned a UL-210 for awhile, the UL-110 pair is more flexible and pretty identical in tone and volume to the UL-210. The dream config is a UL-110/UL-112. It's a magical pairing.
The UL310 is also my favorite Epi cab, but the UL110 is my all time favorite 110 cab. And the only reason I still have a UL112 is to pair with the UL110. (great stack)
