1x10 or 1x12 cabinets

  1. My rig (Eden WT-300, 2x D-210T) is really too big for my dorm room and I plan to keep the cabinets stored at the rehearsal space next year. I'll be keeping the head in my room since an amp that small might well sprout legs and walk away.

Anyhow, I'll be needing a 1x10 or maybe a 1x12 cabinet that's not too big (no Eden D-110 or Nemesis N-112) and not too expensive (no Euphonic or Epifani stuff). Anyone have any recommendations?

I have a Genz-Benz ML12-T combo that I've been pretty happy with. The cab is available as a stand-alone and I don't think it's too expensive. It is limited to 150W (otherwise I'd get one to go with my "big rig").

I guess the smallest and lightest 1x12 is the Gallien-Krueger 112 MBX (extension cab for the Microbass combo). As the combo weighs only 25lbs it must be well under 20lbs. It's 100W@8Ohms, not very loud because it's a sealed design, however I don't know wether it is expensive.

    Maybe a swr workingman's 10 ext speaker.
  5. I've had the Genz Benz cab highly recommended to me on the newsgroups.

I'll be checking one out ASAP.
