1x12 and 2x10

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by MCBTunes, Oct 15, 2005.

  1. do they handle roughly the same power? that is, if they came from the same manufacturer? or will the 2x10 handlemore because there are 2 speakers?

PS.... I realize the 2x10 will be louder because of space...

You can get a 1x12 that will handle 700 watts with 100 dB sensitivity. You can get a 2x10 that will handle 200 watts with 93dB sensitivity. Or you can get the exact opposite. There are many possibilities, so you must consider many factors, not just driver size/number or wattage.

My 2x10 handles 700w and my 1x12 handles 500w! 'Nuff said. :eyebrow:
