1x15/2x10 setup

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by fenderbluesdude, Aug 25, 2004.

  1. i was thinkin about putting a yorkville xs400h head 400watts@4ohms on top of a yorkville xc1x15 xc2x10 so i would be pushing 400watts through a 2x10/1x15 cab do you think this would compete with a loud drummer and a 50watt all tube fender super reverb? i currently use a behringer bx3000t head 300watts @4 ohms and a 8 ohms avatar 2x12 cab so i only am pushing about 165 watts through it and is a pretty good volume. woudl the 1x15/2x10/400watt setup be loud enough? i woul emagine it would, my current setup 165 watts, 24 SA. the yorville setup 400watts,35 SA.

My personal experience is that your stage volume should be louder with that configuration than a 2x12. However, a big issue will be speaker efficiency. Do you happen to know the efficiency specs of each? The extra 100W isn't going to matter much at all, but speaker efficiency makes a huge difference, e.g. Acme.

If your 2x12 is 8 ohm, then why not just add a second cabinet to increase your volume?
  5. i just want a all yorkville rig

but i will keep the 2x12 cab for practicing with my band and than maybe just use the 1x15 and 2x10 on gigs. but using the same head the xs400h for both setups
  6. maybe i shjould go for the yorkie xs400h head and two 1x15 cabs that would be really really loud wow

I'd reccomend trying out the XS400H with the Traynor (Yorkville) YBX1510, 1x15 & 2x10 with a horn combi cabinet. I've tried out that exact setup a few times and it's a killer tone. For my money I actually liked the XS400H on that cabinet better than the Traynor YBA200 all tube head that it was designed for.
