1x15 cab 4 or 8 ohms?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by semborg, Jun 11, 2005.

  1. Okay, I am gonna get a new 1x15 to co-operate with my 2x10 (4ohm).

At first I thought I should get a 4 ohms 1x15 so my amp would do 500watt at 2 ohms.
But I cannot find ANY cab rated at 4 ohms 1x15.

What will happen if I go 8 ohms 1x15 with my 4 ohms 2x10?
  2. EBS has three different 4 ohm 1x15" cabs and peavey has at least one.
with an 8 ohm cab you would get 2.67 ohm, but the 2x10´s would get most of the power.
  3. ahh thanks, I know ebs has, but they are quite expensive.

Is it bad that the 2x10 get most the power?
  4. An 8 ohm 1x15 would be ok. If you do it that way each speaker in your rig will be getting equal power. The 2x10 will get double the power of the 1x15. I have a 4ohm 2x12 and 8 ohm 1x15 that work well together.
