So I play thru a Tc electronic bh550. I have an old Genz neon 212(very road worn) and also have a single Ampeg svt210av that I picked up used for practice, and smaller gigs. I love the tone of the svt210av, and schlepping the gb212 is a little cumbersome even though it has wheels. So would two svt210av’s be close to the volume of the 212neox? I play in a couple cover bands, one is 90s to current rock the other is classic/jam Rock. Thinking of just going with 2 of the svt210av’s and downsizing.
I would definitely stick with the Genz Benz, which is probably still lighter overall than the 2 2x10s, and probably sounds better (DEFINITELY has more low end).
I don't think they will go as loud as the GB cab. GB used neos, which can take a really good amount of power. The 210av's are super light and sound great, but they are medium duty. Now it's possible they may get loud enough for you, and I love the sound of them and they are plenty for me, but it's really hard to predict how much volume someone else needs.
The Genz Benz Neos are pretty high sensitivity, they use edge wound voice coils in a fairly tight gap with high motor strength to moving mass ratio.
Get a folding hand cart to wheel that Genz cab behind you with two fingers. That is what I do. Only using the small cabs wheels for final stage setup. Long distance parking is nothing. Click>https://www.amazon.com/Magna-Personal-Capacity-Aluminum-Folding/dp/B000HVVSDU
Thanks guy’s. Much appreciated. Gonna run the Gb neox till it’s rat fur falls off(sadly isn’t tolex). It really is a great cab.
