The jack in my bass is seeming like it's on its way out.
It's an Ibanez, so a I need a long barrel jack.

The Ibanez has 3 lugs. The only long barrel jack I could find (allparts) is 2 lug.

Are they interchangeable in a bass guitar?
2 lug is obviously positive and negative, I'd guess negative also gets grounded.

What are the 3 lugs used for on a 3 lug, mono jack?

And more importantly, how do I map from one to the other?

Thanks for helping an electronics bonehead out...

The third lug on a three-lug (stereo) jack is typically used to turn off/on active electronics anytime the cable is plugged in. At least that's what I've seen.

I don't know that you'd want to use otherwise on an active bass. If your bass is active, that is.

Try Carvin. They have long three-lug jacks. That's where I've gotten all of mine.

Try Small Bear or even Guitar Center.

You can even get them in Radio Shack in a pinch... but they are fairy cheap parts.
