    I am no longer playing 4 string and I am seriously considering selling these two basses:

    [IMG]
    MTD 435-24 Ash Body, Myrtle Burl Top, Maple Neck, Rosewood Board, MTD Gig Bag. This bass is in excellent condition. $2,400

    and

    [IMG]

    MTD 435 Fretless. Ash body, Wenge neck/wenge fingerboard. Mint condition, all the mwah you could ever ask for. $1,500.

    not to cloud up your sale but that fretless is ultra hot! Are the inlaid lines blue also? Thats a great price too.

    The fret lines are blue as well. The bass is fairly plain - no exotic top - that's why the price is so reasonable

    I can't believe you're giving those up Mike!

    I have had the pleasure of playing both of these basses and they really are works of art in both sound and sight!
    The fretted is the nicest 4 I've ever played bar none! and the fretless has an incredible smooth Mwah.

    Whoever gets either of those will be very happy with that purchase.

    I can't afford either of those fine looking basses, but if you're feeling charitable. :p

    Are these basses 34" scale, or 35"? I know MT has made some 35" scale 4 strings.

    Nice basses! Are you switching to 5 string EADGC permanently?

    Your standards are somewhat higher than mine ... Not what I'd call plain at all. Beautiful instruments both.

    Purty! Almost makes me wish I was still playing four!

    FYI for those who don't know: for USA MTD basses the scale length is built into the model number. Examples:
    x34 = 34"
    x35 = 35"

    Ugh! I just sold my beloved 535 because I couldn't hang with the 35" scale.

    Good luck with these Mike. I know someone is going to be thrilled.

    The fretless has been sold. I've decided to keep the fretted, at least for a while

    Thanks for the interest

    I hope it went to a TB'er. It is a stunning bass and I'm certain it sounds fabulous in the right hands.
