    Hello !

I've got 2 problems and I sure somebody could help me to solve them.

1- How can I protect the body of my bass from my nails when I slapping ? Remove the nail ?

2- When I'm playing "HARD", some of my strings make a parasite vibration (frizz ? I don't know the right word in english...). One told me I should play thiner strings and higher them. Is it right ?

    Thanx very much.

My opinions- For the damage to the bass, either cut your nails or get a piece of plastic or a pickguard an install it where the the damage is taking place.

The second problem sounds like you aren't using damping technique or the proper damping technique. Alex Slareveski made an instructional video, "The Slap Bass Program," which covers this and other subjects very, very, well. I got mine at http://www.videoprogressions.com.
