Thank you, the economy seems to be funny but stable, there seems to be many incredible deals on Talkbass!

Sorry for the delay, I am mourning the loss of my best friend of 14 yrs, my puppy "MAX", and it has been hard to get motivated. I believe it is a late 90's model, I am an old man, and never believed in violating my basses by disassembling them for the sake of curiosity, taking the black off the screw heads and distorting the metal for the sake of taking pictures has never been my thing. I believe that some basses have a magic about them, and to take them apart for someone who may or may not buy the bass is like deflowering a virgin, especially if you are the original owner. I had over 40 basses, now 30 from selling in my retirement, and I have never jacked with a truss rod adjustment. I am lucky enough to have a veteran luthier, who does all my set ups. This particular Ken Smith came from "The Lowend Bass Shop" set up with a high action, and having 3 Lowend Jazz basses, I trust Brian Barrett's set up of this bass. It has been used sparingly, when played around nationally know artists, mostly as a status symbol. It is in pristine condition. Thank you for kind words, I was always horrified to bump or scratch the finish of my new investment, so I never really got to enjoy the bass, It definitely deserves more than C/W music. HA!

The serial number which is embossed right on the end of the fingerboard above the last fret contains two digits which represent the year of manufacture. You should not need to do any disassembly to be able to read that.

    Sorry about Max.

Not me, I have two of them already.
But yours is a 2001 model, as indicated by the last two numeric digits of the S/N.
