2001 p-bass

    hey any1 tried out a 2001 standard p-bass? i'm gonna upgrade from my squier in about a month and i see the 2001 p as a good choice....what's the difference between the 2001 and 2000?

    I <3 the 2001 P Bass. Its an amazing bass, and I was lucky enough to play that one and the 2001 jazz bass this last week. There are no serious changes made to the bass this year, heck, there never is every year. They have more colors this year and I think the machine heads are a little better. I bought the 2001 jazz...and its hot like whoa. I love it, and I had to chose it over the P.

    that new light blue color they have is really cool looking....if i get it i'll change the pickguard to a white moto one

    Welcome to TalkBass, Duff_Man182, and whiteout.

    Now, to the poster. P-basses are great basses, I honestly have no idea what the difference is...

    Although, if it's any difference other than a design difference, you could go to www.fender.com and see it in the specs. :)

    I just bought the 2001 Jazz..and I have it in aqua marine metallic. sort of teal. is that the light blue youre talking about or did I miss something?

    i know the jazz has the american style knobs and better pickups but im not sure what was improved on the precision
