2002 Lakland 55-94 - Rosewood fretboard with birdseye maple dots. Alder body. Quartersawn maple neck. Rare shoreline gold finish that has aged beautifully. Bartolini pickups and preamp. Weighs in at 9lbs 8oz. Original cream colored Lakland G&G case included. Body and headstock have some dings/scratches from being gigged regularly over the last 13 years, however the back of the neck is very clean. Frets are in great shape. Plays and sounds incredible, but I'm more comfortable with 4 strings.

    NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Who ever really "needs" a bass?

Heck... I just want it!!! Just cannot justify the expense.

Been doin' lots of reading about the Barts and LH3 system from Lakland.

It's almost too much to sift down to a conclusion.
Lakland Bart's or Lakland LH-3 system.

I'm sure alder body and rosewood fingerboard are in line with my tastes and style; what about the pups and pre? There's no chance to A/B around here.

Having played both.... I will tell you that the lh3 had a bit more definition and more high mids

That being said... The BARTS for very nice in the mix and are a bit more mid and low mid heavy.... The word "darker" is often used.

I also find the lh3 to have a bit more tonal variety of you need it...

I've played a handful of these and couldn't put them down. I just can't do the 35" scale long term. And this is the best price I've ever seen on this model.

  17. Does it need frets? 13 years of gigging , it must have pitting or flat spots. Can you shoot some photos of the frets in the $$$ positions please.

For those who require international shipping, please use the rate estimator on FedEx's website to get an idea of the shipping cost. The dimensions are 52" x 20" x 8" and the weight is ~30lbs.

Seriously, it's insane that this bass is here. It really doesn't get any better as a bass or in price! I just wish I had manlier hands that can do the 35" thing.

    This is a BEAST.
