For Sale or TRADE: Modulus Quantum 5-String Bass

    - Beautiful Honeyburst Quilt top looks like it was forged at Fort Knox
    - Made in June 2002
    - 18-volt 3-band preamp
    - Gold Hardware
    - Excellent condition: No scratches, No dents, No marks,
    - Purchased new in Nov 2002
    - Includes original Modulus case (has a spot on one bottom corner)
    - Never gigged, never left home--less than 10 hours playing time!
    - Factory installed strings are still fresh!

    - The list price is over $3525 (Q5 = $3,100...4A Quilt Top = $200...Honey Burst = $100...Barts w/3band EQ = $125)

    - This bass sells for $2,599.00 at Musiciansfriend.com

    - SAVE over $1000 on a "like new" bass!

    - Reason for selling is that the string spacing (17mm) is too close for me. I need 18mm and above for slap. I have no problem with the 18mm spacing on my Ken Smith. I really like the Modulus sound and feel...guess I'll have to find me a Q-4 with barts real soon.

    - As always, trades are considered. I can add CASH for the right bass. Here are some things I'm looking at:
-- Lakland USA, F-Bass, MTD, etc.
-- Modulus Q-4 with wood top

If only it were a different color. . . that orange-looking finish just doesn't quite do it for me.

    Although a Q5 would be nice. . .

The color is not quite as orangy as it looks. I've been jamming :bassist:this one for a couple of hours so far tonight. I adjusted the string spacing about a 1/2 mm wider at the bridge and so far, so good. I might pull the add. Whoever wants a Q5 and doesn't get this one is going to miss a good deal. Catch me on the right day, and who knows how low I'll go.
  6. My goodness that's a beautiful bass.

Gotta agree with jasonbraatz about your excellent photos. They are impressive. The basses aren't bad either. :D

That's easy to say NOW. Should I call the buyer off and sell it to you? (Stop squirming) :D
