2002 WARWICK THUMB- what the pots do?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Lonesomedave, Oct 22, 2011.

  1. howdy-- just a quick question about the Warwick Thumb my son is currently playing.

what the heck do the 3 control pots do?

on the pic below you see the body of the bass.

we have figured out that the top knob (in the photo) is the volume.

my son says he believes the middle pot is for pick up selection, from all the way to the bridge pu to all the way to the neck or anything in between.

it is the bottom one we are having trouble with. it is a stacked knob, so controls 2 functions.

is it tone? is one bass and one treble?

anyway, we would appreciate being straightened out.

    volume. blend. stack-top=treble, bottom=bass..

if you haven't done the 18V conversion, try it.. it does make a difference in the headroom..

    it's a nice Thumb..

Pull up on the volume knob. It might be a switch for passive mode.
  5. how do you do that? take it a luthier?

yep, it is, just like on his lakland 4-94...thanks, good thought
