Up for sale is my 2003 Lull M5V Natural. I received it on trade back in early 2017. I sent it to Mike Lull Custom Guitars in July of '17 to have them convert it into a PJ, installing a Nordstrand NP5. They confirmed its age as 2003 and suggested a complete Plek setup. It was built before they Plek'd all their new basses. I thought it played pretty well but I figured Mike knew best. Holy crap was he right. When I got it back only a week later, it played like new! They routed the pickup cavity so that I could convert it back to a JJ if I wanted. The original bridge pickup and two pickguards are included with the sale. This has been my main gig bass ever since. I babied it as best I could. It's in great condition for a 17-year-old bass. As you'll see in the pictures, its comfortable 35" scale neck has a beautiful birdseye maple fingerboard and a nicely grained ash body. It's very light, at only 8 pounds 12 ounces. There are some finish imperfections, mostly age-related. No scratches, dents or bumps. There are three small cracks in the poly finish. They're hard to see but they are pointed out in the pictures. No issues with the wood, just the effects of temperature changes on the poly. It's not a unique problem with Lulls around the neck pocket. I love this bass and I really am not excited about selling. I've been chasing a certain aggressive Rickenbacker tone with different 5 strings. I disliked the 4003 with its sharp body edges and reprogramming my brain to play 4's was harder than I thought. For giggles two months ago I ordered a 4003s5. What a difference from 4003! It was comfortable and gave me Ric tone for days. The string spacing and scale are very different from the Lull, but I warmed up to it pretty quick. I also have a heavily modded 34" scale G&L 5000. Between the Ric and the G&L, I'm covered now that our band is finally getting gigs again. The Lull is redundant and needs a good home. I'm asking $2000 or best reasonable offer. Insured shipping is included to anywhere in the continential US. Payment by PayPal or Venmo is welcomed. No trade offers, please! It's priced well considering its options and I'm covering all the fees. It will be carefully boxed, shipped in it's Mike Lull Gigbag. Because it will be insured, an adult signature is required.
GLWTS - I have 3 Lull's and love all of them. I actually had a MVR that looked like that one that I bought from Mike at a NAMM show, when it was a JJ...best of luck!
