2004 FJS MIA Input Please

Long short gentlemen - I'm interested in this hardly used like new 2004 Fender American Standard Jazz Translucent Sunset Orange finish, with fender Hard Shell case. Plays and sounds fine.

Local music store has price at $1129.00 which I believe is way to high. I offered $900.00. Internet search has turned up some comparison between 900-1000 on like new used 2004 in general but none with this finish and that is what the store owner is putting his hat on... I beg to differ.

What might one consider a fair offer?

If I were you, I'd stick to my guns. But I value function above form and wouldn't pay a premium for any given color. Ultimately though, the question is, "What's it worth to you"?

$900 is more than fair. You can get one for less if you keep looking for a little while.

Thank you for the quick reply gentlemen, NYC... & RobertB, and I agree RB sometimes something is worth a bit more to "me" does play a part. NYC I agree on the wait however with this one I am able to play and test drive which I have done twice now and it only got better the second time around. Ok I'm sticking at $900.00.

Yes sir. I meant fair as an offer from you. The seller should strongly consider it. I wouldn't go any higher unless she is really speaking to you.

I did it she spoke to me at $980.00 w/ ohsc, had to have it. The plastic was still on the pick guard with no blems and the third test drive was best of all. There is literally not a mark anywhere on this bass. I like the s-1 feature too.
