Man, if I were righty I would work to get this. I had a 4 string version of this bass in lefty and let me tell you.. the oversized body and pickup/electronic package RULED. These basses sound huge!!!! I am a huge fan of the dual J at the bridge position.
No argument here - There was some idle thought on my part to replacing the original PU/electronics, but frankly why bother? Different, not better, IMO - Absolutely nothing wrong with them. And as you've said, the dual J at the bridge (with built-in splitting capacity) is a big component of the instrument's overall sound.
