I just don't play this beautiful thing enough to warrant holding on to it.

It's Mark's original Black Forest (single cut) design and plays like a dream. Just too much bass for my bi-weekly church hit.

    Asking $2,750 OBO

    6 string
NECK:4 piece Flame Maple/Black Limba with black laminate
FINGERBOARD: 34" scale 24 fret Gaboon Ebony
BODY: Swamp Ash core, Alder wings, full Flame Koa top and Flame koa rear wing covers, Custom Koa-capped Ebony knobs from THG
    FINISH: Poly-oil
    PICKUPS: Nordstrand Dual Coils
    HARDWARE: Black Hipshot UL tuners
    NUT: brass
BRIDGE: custom Ebony/Koa ESHENBAUGH IN-PLACE (floating)
ELECTRONICS: Aguilar OBP-3 with coil taps and active/passive switch
    WEIGHT: 8.6 pounds

    • Matching control cover, hidden hardware (incredibly clever, sturdy magnet design)
    • NO FRET MARKERS except for the Abalone silhouette design. No side dots either
    • Matching ramp
    • Stacked knobs matching diameter for low profile
The bass is in excellent shape with one ding on the bottom of the body, shown in photos

Fantastic bass you've got there. I also have a 6 string single cut from Mark, and it stands up with everything else I own, including my Carl Thompson. Someone needs to buy this fast. Good luck with the sale.

Of all the beautiful features on this bass that piece of ash on the back is what I like the most; What a piece of art!

I have a Surine Homage 5 I just put on the market in the classifieds. I also have a Clover XP15 6 string.

Is the ramp removable? I like ramps but not in that position.

I've owned an Eshenbaugh J5 for several years now. Overall a very nice bass.

  12. @Brad Johnson, the ramp is removable - it's pressure fit and has only come off a couple times during string changes (and only out of curiosity).

PM me what you're thinking on trade values.

I played an Eshenbaugh at the Atlanta Bass Gallery a few years back. It's a shame he is not making these instruments anymore. They are amazing!

Wow MEW, I totally remember when you had that built. Killer bass, wish I had the $ for it.

  17. Jairaj - these are the times....

  18. I've had a couple very nice trade offers that made me realize I might not have been clear:

I'd consider any trade that was a significant trade down for me and included at least $2,000 in cash.

    Thanks and happy Sunday!
