I have always considered Lake Placid Blue to be the best color for a non-ash bodied jazz bass.

    Bump for the masses.

I already have 3 P-basses but with this news...

  6. The price list didn't show the maples or at least I didn't see them. I wonder if they cost the same as the rosewoods?

    A marcus 410cab....neo I bet....

Hmmm....now if they do the MIM Deluxe with a maple board..that would be cool on a stick.

  10. Holy Crap! I just found out you can get a MIM Jazz with a maple fretboard! Where's the natural ash though?

Now I'm gassing for a Fender, which I never thought I'd do. No offence, just not into the painted body, mass production basses, especially for the price they want. I do love the looks of the natural ash jazz basses though, and especially love the tone.

So, I guess my next choice would be black with a maple board. Does anyone know if they have to be special ordered, or would they be available at a local music store (with the maple board)?

Any word about the 09 standard jazz bass V?

  13. Right in time for their price increases. :( Though I guess you could look at it as at least you're getting something for the price increase (in this case, options).

I just got back from my local music store and they just received their NAMM Fender basses. Included in those were the MIM maple neck Jazz and P. Wow! I am impressed! Really solid fit and finish and a great set up right out of the box. Definitely worth a look. They also received a couple of Road Worn, also P and J, really nice basses. I may have to get one of those just because they are so cool! And finally, I played an American mad Jazz 5er. Really sweet! Great bass. seriously.

    Be well

Funny..notice every one of those basses has the same dark grain markings on the fret board. At 4th fret and 16-17th fret. Whether it is the jazz or p,they have the same marks.
Computer duplicted graphics? Just a passing observation :eyebrow:

  18. I noticed that too, is that really cheaper then taking multiple photos?

I think I'm gonna see if I can trade my Peavey Grind 6 string with EMG pickups for one at my local store. Probably still have to come up with some cash, now that they increased prices.

Call me crazy, but I didn't know MIMs were rosewood only!
...I don't get out to the guitar shops much...

    Yes.
    Less time consuming, as well.
