Selling my 2011 MIM Classic 50s P. It's a great precision that plays super easy. Great neck and the action is set very low currently. One of the nicest P's I've owned. Just not playing it as much as my new active Jazz and have decided to let it go. All original except for an upgraded Fender bone nut and I added a small truss rod access spot under the pick guard (so it's not necessary to loosen the neck to adjust the truss rod - see photo). Recently had the fret ends professionally filed.. super nice feeling edges. This bass has a few dings and and one chip. I'd say it's 8/10. Also, I'm including an extra black WD pickguard with it. No case, will pack well. $725 + shipping. Note: this is not the "Lacquer" edition. This is a 2011, that series started in 2013 I believe. The neck has naturally darkened over the last decade and it does look like the lacquer version which had a very yellow/golden neck.
Yes. That is correct. At first the ad didn't reference any specific type of finish, then after a couple inquiries, because the tint of this neck looks exactly like the lacquer version, I researched it and discovered that this 2011 50s classic cannot be the lacquer version because they didn't start that offering until late 2013. Just a beautifully aged fender neck on this one.
I had one of these and despite someone saying it was black lacquer, the paint job looked like poly to me. I guess I'm spoiled with the Road Worn Jazz nitro that look's great. I wanted to like this one but the neck is too wide and honestly the pickups sounded like beefed up player P pickups.
