It sounds just as beautiful as it looks. I purchased this bass from Robertsons and Sons in Albuquerque NM 3 years ago. I had tried out numerous basses in that same price range and this pieces deep resonance and defined tone appealed to me immediately. I decided to further enhance the sound and had Robertsons add one of their fine extensions, and now the bass really sings. It plays both jazz and orchestral genres perfectly. I've had it maintained and set up regularly by a noted local luthier. No open seams, cracks, repairs etc.
