4th Annual Emerald City Bass Convention! Open to all bass players (even under age 21)

When: Sunday, April 30th from Noon to 8pm
Where: Odin Brewing Co, 402 Baker Blvd, Tukwila, WA

    What do I bring?
All of your gear, or none :). Whatever you feel like bringing - the more that people can bring however, the better!

    What about food and drinks?

There will be a buffet available for $15 (per plate - generous portion), and drinks will be available from the bar

    Who's going to be there?

We're still working on that, but we expect the "usual" vendors, builders, DIY'ers and guests from the past few years, with possibly a few new additions and even demos! Stay tuned for some spotlights!

How much does it cost me?

Once again this year, no ticket or any kind of fee to get in. You'll only need to pay for food or drink if you choose to.

    Raffle?
This has been a pretty big hit for these events, and I'm working out details on it this year.

*Raffle Registration will be from Noon until 2pm only*

Instead of doing one large drawing as in the past, I will likely do 2 or 3 smaller raffles throughout the day.
Must be present to pick up any prize you are drawn for.

Looking good Ray. The venue being south of Seattle will make things a good bit easier for me.

No guarantee at this time, but it's on my calendar. Location and time work very well for me, I'll be playing at my church in Bellevue that morning.

Yeah, I tried to make it a bit easier on everyone. The parking and load-in situation here is better, too. Also, if anyone ends up flying in for it, it is not far from the airport.
Sweet! I don't recall if you made last year (I think you had a gig), so it'll be good to see you there!
Nice! This should be about 30 minutes from downtown Bellevue, give or take.
    Wonderful!
Definitely sounds like a good time to swing by. I'm hoping this year is the biggest so far. If you know any other bassists in the Portland area (Passinwind above is not far), feel free to share the event with them - they are all invited and encouraged to come! And if you can convince some to come, setting up a carpool might be nice to share the driving load would be nice I bet.

  8. Hey @Obese Chess ! I do a Jam, mostly blues, funk, rock or whatever at the Montavilla Station every Sunday 9-1:30. Come out and say hi. There's a few TBrs that come out.

  9. Oh and I'd really like to come up for this, we'll see if I can squeeze it in. I might even sub out my jam gig to go.

Sounds cool! Shoot me the details if you don't mind! Sundays are usually packed for me but I'll do what I can.

Gonna have to see if I can make it. I'm not sure what weirdness I have that would be worth bringing for everyone's amusement.

It'd be good to have you there, even if you don't want to haul gear :). Drinks and socializing is a large part of these.

I have to bring something odd. Mark will bring Thunderbirds, and the new 360 was around a couple or three years ago. I'm sure there's some strange thing I can dig out of the bowels of my toy closet. Maybe a Morley Rotating Wah pedal or something. Those aren't completely bass friendly, but the chances anybody except me has ever seen one are pretty low.

I'm sorry. I'll go hang my head in shame now for going there.

It was a tough place to go, but somebody had to get it done.

I'll invite as many past attendees of the Portland and Gorge GTGs as I can remember, heck, might as well throw Boise in there too!

It's open to anyone/everyone that can make it. If people want to come from far away, great! Maybe some day I'll make this a full weekend event :D

Both the the Boise ones I went to were sandwiched around Michael Manring concerts and clinics, which made the fairly long drive extra worthwhile. But there's pretty much always something else cool going on around Seattle to tempt us out of towners anyhow.
