I’m paring down my bass collection so I’m letting this one go. It’s a beautiful bass but I just have more than I need. It’s a 2017 Fender American Professional Jazz. It has a very unusual neck with tiger maple along the length of the neck and birdseye maple on the headstock (see pictures). The neck has been sanded and finished with Danish oil to give it a more natural feel. The frets are even and show little wear. It has a set of Fender Custom Shop 60s pickups and a series parallel switch so it can be played in the normal parallel configuration or in serial for a meatier tone. (Series basically takes the two single coil pickups and joins them into a single humbucker.) I installed the pictured Sandberg string retainer to alleviate the dreaded A string buzz, which hasn’t been a problem since. It comes with the pictured old-style case, which is in as-new condition. The only defect in the bass is a slight ding in the finish on the side by the jack. It’s not all the way through the finish and is too small to show up in a photograph. I’m happy to do a video call so you can get a sense of how it sounds. I can go direct through my Tone Hammer DI so it gives a pretty good sense of the tone. I also have the white and tortoise pickguards I can include if you want them. PM me with any questions. $1350 shipped in the lower 48. Actual cost of shipping minus $50 elsewhere.
