It would be better with a HUGE pickguard.

You know I hate you, right, Jack? :p

WOW. She's a beauty, and will no doubt have a FANTASTIC tone. Alnico pickups and a mahogany block, right?

Enjoy!!! I'd love to hear a comparison of one of the 20th models side-by-side with a regular SR5.

    BEHOLD!

Man Jack, you have two of the Ray 5's that would be on the absolute top of my list. That one, and the Dargie HH.

Day-ummm! That quilt is so deep, you could swim in it. I'm another that's not really into the quilt thing, but that is truly the exception that proves the rule.

Same here. That's awesome. I've been gassing over the 20th Anniv. HS model with maple board on Bass Central's site. I think it would be the ideal SR5 for me, with alnico p'ups and all, but I just can't justify spending that much for a fiver when I'm not sure how much I'd use it.

Bet you'll put that beauty to good use though! :bassist:

Anyone who knows me even a little knows that I am

    a. a lunchpail bassist and
    b. not into the fancy-schmancy tops.

There IS something different about this, though, and I've yet to figure out what it is. I guess it just may be that it's a Stingray so I don't look at it as some fancy-shmancy bass - I can pronounce all the woods used and I know it's going to sound like I want a bass to sound without a lot of fiddling around with parametric EQs and whatnot.

Alnico pickup and a mahogany tone block should take care of all the details.

I ALMOST ordered it in the HS configuration but I think now I'm glad I didn't.

  14. i have no words....

I'm dissapointed that EB/MM is not offering this bass lefty, and not offering the H/S option in lefty StingRay 5s either.

Will have to wait 'till then, if. . .

    Nice bass, FanGeezer.

Seeing how the entire run is limited to 8 basses for sale on the market IIRC (4 sold US, 4 overseas), I don't think I'd hold my breath.

Awesome looking bass. I can't believe i'm saying this, but it looks a bit odd without a pickguard to me. It looks great, and i think with a pickguard on it the look would be lost-weird eye trick to me.
