Just picked up a pretty cool gig for next weekend. The show will be playing the music of Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Robert Johnson, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones. 6 different singers playing 3 or 4 tunes from each artist with a back line band. The venue should be fantastic. Sold out (600 tix) in the Alabama hills National park below Mt. Whitney in a natural rock amphitheater. Now all I have to do is learn 20 songs before rehearsal on Tuesday. Gig is put on by the Western film history museum that are allowed to do one show a year at this location as a fundraiser. Apparently there have been many western movies filmed in the area including the original Lone Ranger flick.
