Hi Talkbass, I looked for a thread with this info and - while there are a lot with rotary switches - none seem to answer my question. Pickups are: Dimarzio dp145 neck Bartolini MME I would like a rotary switch on each pickup, then Vol/Tone/Blend to a mono output. I was planning on using this diagram for the neck rotary switch: six way rotary switch for two singlecoils or one humbucker And this diagram for the MME (pg4-5) http://www.bestbassgear.com/wiring-diagrams/MME-Tri-Coil.pdf Then, with those completed, use this VBT scheme: VBT wiring diagram? (Passive Fender Jazz Bass) Does that sound like it will work? Would it be possible to add a push/pull for series/parallel of the 2 pups?
Just opinion... a lot of the switching positions would be somewhat mis-matched such as a single coil on one switch, and a series dual coil on the other, it will be a somewhat noisy setup as far as single coil hum, on certain settings, and the push pull series/parallel would not be between 2 similar pickups, since you would already be treating the humbuckers as separated coils, there would be a lot of mis-matches, it would have some bad sounding settings, and maybe a few that sound good, not every possible combination of coils would be useful. The question is ...would you want all those switching options, when just a few would be useful>
"The question is ...would you want all those switching options, when just a few would be useful" ??? i dunno? i never asked myself if i should, i asked if i could?
