2x10 vertical orientation, top speaker angled... Does such a thing exist?

    Hey everyone:

I've onwed a Hartke Pro 2200 cabinet for eons, and I LOVE it. I took the aluminum speakers out and replaced them with Eminence Neo paper speakers. Great sounding piece.

I haven't used it in a while, kinda big to haul around... I was actually thinking of selling it. Took it out today and... a revelation. I have severe hearing issues (mostly NOT from playing music... genetic), and having the top speaker pointing up towards me is a huge benefit.

So now I'm looking for a 2100 - the 2x10 version - for smaller venues... scarce as hen's teeth.

So, my esteemed colleagues, I'm wondering if such a cabinet exists... 2x10 vertical configuration with a 'slanted' top, kind of like a Marshall slant-top but with 2 speakers (and a tweeter). I'm OK with just a raw cabinet. I have tons of parts I can use to fill it ;>)

Thanks in advance - and sorry for the rambling post.

Yes, we did this many years ago at GB with the M-Line series, and some of our cabs also had a tilt-back feature built in.

I believe Jeff’s bass array series cabinets include this feature as well.

  3. I wish them flip out feet were on every cab. They are fantastic.

It's a 2x8, and it's a combo amp, but the top driver is angled up in the Peavey Max 208 combo. I've been looking for one of those used. Unfortunately they don't make it in a stand-alone cabinet.

For most gigs I stack my "two", (standard shaped), 210 cabinets as a vertical 410.
Gets the top driver up near the ears.

For small stages/small room jobs I use one of the 210 cabinets placed vertically on top of a bass drum case with a piece of wedge shaped, black, foam rubber under the bottom, front edge of the cab to angle the drivers up at my ears.

    Works great!
    No special shaped cab needed.

Just put a "regular" 2x10 on top of a matching 2x10 and call it a day. No need for any angling. :D

OK Lob, if we are not gonna play by the rules, then I'm gonna see your 210x2 and raise with a Revsound RS410V ;)

You might look into a simple foam wedge; not so much an Auralex style acoustic decoupler, but something for bed/back support, or yoga. There are different angles available so that you can find the perfect tilt…

There’s also the Fender tilt arms, like on a Twin, that you could retrofit. As for your amp, hopefully it has feet, so that can use the front pair as hooks/stops so it doesn’t slide back.

You know in the 1970's we called those "column PA speakers" and we all hated the damn things

    They truly did suck.

Not dinging the RevSound product, I am sure it sounds excellent and does not suck; just pointing out what goes around comes back around :D
