This bass arrived via UPS about 2 hours ago. WOW!!!! What an awesome quilt top on this bass. It's Amazing. The neck is extremely comfortable. I have a gig this Friday & I'm gonna bring it as a backup to my Sadowksy Vintage 4 & play it on a song or two.

This bass is very nice. It has a nice weight, Nice grain of wood, the neck is comfortable but the sound isn't all that. Both pickups together is, ahh, neck pickup is very bottom end & muddy but the bridge pickup soloed is very nice, I wouldn't think so since it's so close to the bridge.

This bass is still not completed. This bass has the Warmoth Koa Body but I didn't like that body cause it wasen't finished very well.

Sweet!! I really like the Lak!
Nino you are the reason I need to keep a supply
    Gas-X around the house!!!:D

  6. I thought you said you didn't like the MM/J configuration?

Very nice bass though. It's a shame NO-ONE stocks them over here.

As for the Dean, why don't you try putting the neck pickup at the bridge and the bridge at the neck? That's what Jeff Berlin did, but the dark pup at the bridge and the bright pup at the neck.

  7. OMG! I WANT THAT QUILT TOP! Nina!!! that's amazing!!!!!!

I usually don't like any configuration with a MM style pick up but I wanted something alittle different.

About the Berlin, I like the sound of the bridge soloed & if I play that bass live, it's probably that with the brigde pu soloed. :)

I gotta say that's one smokin' piece of wood for a Skyline, Nina (?);)

Congrats. Is the Dean the top of the line Jeff Berlin model?

  17. Wow! That quilt top... uhh... yah. Wow!

How much does she cost per night?

  18. if i had that jazz body i'd make a matt sharp jazz bass. put on a warmoth telecaster neck, tort pickguard, relic up the armrest a little, bada-bing.
