Tony LEvin is known to use a 3 string MusicMan. It burnt, and they made him another one.

    I used to play a 35" 2 string bass tuned lowA-lowD.
It was basically a defretted Pcopy with furthered bridge and split P pickups used as 2 independant PUs.

Atlansia makes 1, 2 and 3 stringers, as well as more usual configurations.

I played one of their 5 strings several years ago in a Guitar Center. Great tone but it was sooooo heavy I would have needed a forklift to get it out to my truck (and I lift weights............ ).
